Role Overview

The Premium & Claims Technician will provide technical and administrative support to the broking and operations teams, ensuring the accurate processing of premium transactions and efficient handling of claims activities across Lloyd's and London Market business, including London Market claims processing and direct claims handling for the Sports and Leisure team.

The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing premium and claims bordereaux, liaising with insurers, clients, MGAs and loss adjusters, and supporting the delivery of a high-quality service to clients. Responsibilities typically include premium processing, insurer settlements, claim notifications, monitoring claim progress and maintaining regulatory and audit standards, together with proactive claims management to support timely resolution and effective client communication.

The Role

Premium Processing

  • Manage the accurate and timely processing of premium transactions, including debit and credit notes, account reconciliations and outstanding premium monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate broking system records and work closely with brokers, insurers and finance teams to resolve queries, while supporting credit control, month-end, client money and bureau/non-bureau processing activities as required.

London Market Claims Processing

  • Act as a key point of contact for London Market claims, ensuring notifications and claim information are accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Liaise with insurers, MGAs, TPAs, loss adjusters and other market participants to monitor developments, obtain outstanding information and support the settlement process, escalating complex or time-sensitive matters where appropriate.

Direct Claims Handling – Sports & Leisure

  • Take ownership of allocated Sports and Leisure claims from notification through to conclusion, acting as a proactive point of contact for brokers and clients.
  • Manage claim activity, documentation and key actions, liaising with insurers, loss adjusters and other stakeholders to progress claims efficiently, identify potential delays and provide clear, timely updates throughout the process.

Operational & Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of data quality, system integrity and document management, ensuring activities comply with FCA, Lloyd’s and internal requirements.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews and process improvement initiatives, while adhering to conduct risk and data protection standards and collaborating with colleagues across UK regional offices as required.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with experience in the London insurance market who combines strong technical and administrative skills with a proactive, organised approach. You’ll have a good understanding of premium processing and/or claims administration, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of tasks and progress claims through effective stakeholder communication.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with insurance broking or claims systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s processes, bureau and non-bureau business, client money requirements or premium reconciliations would be advantageous, as would progress towards ACII and experience within specialist Sports and Leisure claims.
  • Above all, you’ll be a positive and collaborative team player who is customer-focused, comfortable managing multiple priorities and willing to travel occasionally to our other UK offices.
