Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician looking for a role that offers excellent earning potential, ongoing manufacturer training, and genuine career progression?

At Vertu BMW Prep Centre Sunderland, we're looking for a skilled and motivated Prep Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's most prestigious automotive brands, preparing new and used vehicles to the highest standards before they reach our customers.

We're offering a basic salary between £28,000 and £35,000, depending on skills and experience, based on a 40/41-hour working week, with Saturdays paid as overtime and an additional over-performance bonus opportunity, allowing you to further enhance your earnings.

About The Role

As a Prep Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every BMW vehicle leaves our preparation centre in exceptional condition.

Working within a fast-paced and professional environment, you'll be responsible for carrying out comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on both new and used vehicles, ensuring every vehicle meets manufacturer standards and is ready for its new owner.

You'll work efficiently to agreed deadlines while maintaining outstanding levels of quality, productivity and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with BMW manufacturer standards
  • Identify and rectify any issues prior to vehicle handover
  • Perform servicing, maintenance and preparation work as required
  • Complete all job cards and supporting documentation accurately
  • Work to agreed productivity and efficiency targets
  • Maintain the highest standards of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Ensure vehicles are prepared safely and compliantly
  • Support colleagues in achieving departmental objectives
  • Deliver first-time fixes wherever possible

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Automotive qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3)
  • Current experience as a Vehicle Technician
  • Your own set of tools
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards
  • Strong team-working and communication skills
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction

Desirable

  • MOT Tester Licence

An MOT Licence would be advantageous but is not essential, and further training opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
