Permanent Position: Networking Pre-Sales Consultant

Location: Hybrid – 2 days a week in London office (M4 Corridor)

Salary: £60-£90k base + Bonus + Travel Allowance + Benefits

The Role

As a Network Technology Pre-Sales Consultant, you will act as the primary technical advisor for networking opportunities, partnering closely with customers and internal sales teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

You'll be responsible for understanding customer business drivers, capturing technical requirements and translating these into innovative, scalable networking solutions. Working across multiple technology domains, you'll develop solution designs, create pre-sales documentation and provide trusted technical guidance that helps customers achieve their strategic objectives.

You'll play a key role in qualifying opportunities, presenting solution designs, developing business cases and supporting sales growth across Enterprise, Telecommunications, Managed Service Provider (MSP) and emerging cloud environments.

Key Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will bring a combination of strong networking expertise, commercial awareness and consultative pre-sales experience, including:

  • 5-10 years' experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting or technical sales engineering role delivering complex networking and infrastructure solutions.
  • A proven ability to identify customer business challenges and translate them into innovative technology solutions through a consultative approach.
  • Strong experience gathering customer requirements and producing solution designs, technical documentation and commercial pre-sales artefacts, including Bills of Materials (BoMs), Statements of Work (SoWs) and Levels of Effort (LoEs).
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage technical specialists, project teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong networking knowledge across at least one leading vendor such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista or Ciena.
  • Experience designing solutions across Enterprise, Service Provider or Data Centre networking environments.
  • Good understanding of optical networking technologies, including Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) and DWDM transport solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure-by-design networking principles, including resilient Data Centre-to-Data Centre connectivity across trusted and untrusted environments.
  • Broad technical understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies including compute, storage, networking, virtualisation, containers and enterprise security.
  • Experience delivering both greenfield deployments and brownfield transformation or migration programmes.
  • Knowledge of modern networking technologies including Network Automation, SDN, Segment Routing (SR/SRv6), Traffic Engineering, IP & Optical Convergence and AI-driven Data Centre Networking would be highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with recognised industry frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF, TM Forum or eTOM.
  • Relevant industry certifications are desirable, although equivalent commercial experience will also be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline is preferred, although equivalent industry experience is welcomed.
  • Fluent English is essential, with additional European languages considered advantageous.
