The Presales Consultant
The Presales Consultant is a critical enabler of Wanstor's growth, acting as the technical and strategic bridge between customer requirements and the solutions we deliver. This role contributes to the success of the sales team by shaping compelling, technically sound proposals that demonstrate the value of our managed services portfolio.
This is our first dedicated Presales hire and will give you the chance to shape and own how Presales works here at Wanstor!
Working closely with Account Managers, Solution Architects and Delivery teams, you'll design solutions that are technically robust, commercially viable and aligned to customer business objectives. While you'll work across Wanstor's full portfolio of services, your primary technical focus will be Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace solutions, supported by a solid understanding of networking, cloud infrastructure and security technologies to ensure complete end-to-end customer solutions.
Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Solution Design
- Collaborate with Account Managers to understand customer requirements, business objectives and technical environments.
- Lead discovery sessions and technical workshops with prospective customers.
- Design tailored solutions across Wanstor's portfolio, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace and collaboration technologies, whilst considering wider networking, infrastructure and security requirements.
- Create high-quality solution proposals, statements of work (SOWs) and technical documentation.
- Advise customers on Microsoft 365 best practice, helping them maximise productivity, collaboration and security.

Sales Support
- Deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations and proof-of-value sessions.
- Support bids, RFPs and tenders with technically sound and commercially aligned proposals.
- Work closely with Sales, Architecture and Delivery teams to ensure solutions are deliverable, scalable and commercially successful.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales lifecycle, helping customers understand the business value of proposed solutions.
Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Collaborate with Architecture, Practice Leads and Marketing to develop and maintain standard solution offerings.
- Capture lessons learned from projects and contribute to the continual improvement of presales processes and documentation.
- Stay current with Microsoft's roadmap, emerging technologies, strategic partners and wider MSP trends.
- Share knowledge across the business, helping develop technical capability within the wider team.
About You
- 3+ years' experience in a Presales, Solutions Consultant or Technical Account Management role within an MSP or IT Services provider.
- Strong technical understanding of managed IT services, with Microsoft 365 as your primary area of expertise.
- Experience designing solutions across Microsoft 365 technologies such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Entra ID and Intune.
- Good understanding of Microsoft security capabilities, including Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender and identity management principles.
- Broad knowledge of networking, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity, allowing you to design complete end-to-end customer solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Experience producing professional proposals, solution documentation and customer-facing presentations.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence with customer outcomes.
