About the Role
You will work with enterprise prospects to understand complex business and tax compliance challenges, translate those requirements into technical solutions, and demonstrate how client’s platform can address them. This is a highly consultative, customer-facing role combining technical discovery, solution design, API integrations, product demonstrations, and pre-sales engineering. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with complex SaaS products, APIs, and enterprise environments, while also being able to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As a Solutions Engineer, you will:
- Partner with Sales to lead technical discovery, scoping, and solution design for enterprise prospects.
- Understand customer requirements, technical environments, and business challenges and translate them into appropriate solutions.
- Create and deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective and existing customers.
- Lead technical conversations around API integrations, technical requirements, gap analysis, and implementation planning.
- Work extensively with REST APIs, JSON, API documentation, and SQL.
- Become a deep technical expert across Fonoa’s API suite, including Lookup, Tax, Returns, Data Sharing, and E-Invoicing.
- Explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify technical gaps and work with internal product and engineering teams to determine appropriate solutions.
- Act as a strong customer advocate and provide feedback that helps shape future product improvements.
- Support customers with technical questions and issues during the pre-sales process.
- Ensure a smooth and effective handoff from pre-sales to implementation.
- Work collaboratively across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
