Prescription Clerk Mendip Vale Medical Group – Langford, North Somerset

Part time, 21 hours per week
£12.90 per hour (£14,068.80 actual annual salary) plus NHS Pension

We’re looking for a Prescription Clerk to join the prescription team at Langford. This is a varied role combining administrative work with direct patient contact, supporting patients to get their medication safely, efficiently and on time.

Hours

21 hours per week: Tuesday and Wednesday, 1pm to 6.30pm, and Friday full day, 8:00-6:30pm. There is also an expectation to cover Saturday mornings (8.30am to 12.30pm) roughly three to four times a year, paid at time and a half or taken as time and a third in lieu.

About The Role

You’ll be part of a close-knit prescription team, working closely with the Patient Services Manager, GPs, nurses and community pharmacies. Day to day, you’ll:

  • Handle prescription queries and repeat prescription requests by phone, in person and electronically
  • Process requests from care homes and manage dedicated prescription phone lines
  • Action prescribing changes as instructed, including contacting patients where needed
  • Carry out clerical tasks such as updating patient details, EPS nominations and general admin
  • Support cost-effective prescribing and QOF compliance alongside the Clinical Pharmacist team
  • Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR and information governance standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
