Position: Visual Designer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $20 - $60/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and author expert-level presentation tasks using reference decks, brand assets, and structured content inputs.
  • Create gold-standard example decks that exemplify refined craft in typography, grid, hierarchy, and visual system fidelity.
  • Define clear, actionable, and concrete criteria for 'on-brand' and 'polished' presentation design for varied tasks.
  • Develop comprehensive visual rubrics evaluating model outputs on visual craft, style consistency, and template adherence.
  • Identify and flag visual failure modes specific to AI design, such as misaligned grids and inconsistent hierarchy.
  • Communicate feedback and reasoning effectively, demonstrating care for both written and verbal articulation of visual standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate on presentation tasks, templates, and evaluation systems as the project evolves.

Requirements

  • Have strong relevant experience in agency, in-house corporate comms/brand, or as an independent deck/presentation designer.
  • Advanced skills in typography, layout, color usage, iconography, and grid systems are required.
  • Fluency in building, extending, and applying visual template systems across multiple slide types and content scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to infer and replicate visual styles from reference decks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Expert-level proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Keynote; strong familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
