Role Description
This full-time, on-site Press Assistant role is based at York Media Ltd’s facilities in York. The Press Assistant supports the print production team by preparing materials, assisting with press setup, and monitoring printing runs to ensure quality and consistency. Daily tasks include:

- Loading paper and inks
- Checking color and alignment
- Performing basic maintenance and cleaning on press equipment
- Reporting any technical issues to senior press operators
- Organizing finished print jobs
- Maintaining accurate records of production activities
- Following all safety and quality guidelines

The Press Assistant works closely with colleagues across the production area to meet deadlines and uphold client standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to follow instructions clearly and collaborate effectively with press operators and production team members.
- Foundational knowledge of Offset Printing processes or experience working with offset presses, with an understanding of basic setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality control, including accurate checking of print output for defects and consistency.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting paper loads, standing for extended periods, and working safely around machinery.
- Basic technical aptitude and willingness to learn press operations, maintenance routines, and safety procedures.
- Organizational skills for managing materials, tracking jobs, and maintaining a clean, efficient work area.
- Prior experience in print production, manufacturing, or a similar environment is an advantage but not strictly required.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts and adapt to changing production schedules.
