A great opportunity to build on the experience you will have already gained in your first job in luxury fashion PR or marketing, the role of Press Assistant at ISSEY MIYAKE will involve you in all aspects of the communications business of an established luxury fashion brand.
ISSEY MIYAKE is looking for a Press Assistant to join our PR & Marketing department. As Press Assistant you will have a key role within the department, handling press and media relations for the UK and Middle East.
The role
As our Press Assistant you will have an important role being a supporting contact for all press and media relations for the UK and Middle East markets.
Main responsibilities
- Manage sample logistics for the UK and ME markets
- Proactively follow up on sample returns and monitor Fedex shipments
- Manage the showroom to ensure it is kept organised and well stocked at all times
- Take inventory and responsibility for all samples coming and going through the press office
- Identify and clip daily press coverage in a timely manner with support of Press Associate to ensure the monthly report is always up to date
- Monitor media plan and editorial credit requests ensuring all required printed media is purchased upon publication
- Ensure press database is kept up to date with industry changes
- Support wider team on global events and projects when required
- Assist E-commerce with customer orders during busy periods

The position is based in London, UK and you will report to the Press Manager. Business travel may occur.

Desired qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience in PR, communications, fashion or a related field is desirable.
- Strong interest in fashion, design, art and the creative industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of the creative media landscape across print, digital and social.
- Preferred experience supporting press enquiries, sample requests, media outreach and events, ideally with a working knowledge of Launchmetrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Fluent in English, proficiency in French/Japanese desirable
