About MoneySavingExpert
MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE) is the UK’s largest consumer website, providing free, independent and editorially led help to millions of people looking to save money. Our mission is simple: to help people cut their bills and achieve financial justice.
Around 12 million people visit MSE each month, while more than nine million subscribers receive our weekly email, packed with exclusive deals, tips, and guides.
What makes MSE distinctive is our Editorial Code, which underpins everything we do. Whatever your role, you will champion the consumer. If you are motivated by our mission and want to make a practical difference to people’s financial lives, MSE could be the right next step for you.
About the Role
MSE’s Press Team helps ensure consumers across the UK can access MSE’s trusted personal-finance guidance. We generate more than 2,000 pieces of media coverage each month, using press activity to help people understand their rights, make informed financial decisions, and improve their financial wellbeing.
As Press Officer, you will support a busy press office across print, digital and broadcast media. You will help respond to the news agenda, develop proactive media opportunities, and amplify MSE’s editorial work, investigations, and campaigns.
This is an early-career role, suited to a recent graduate or someone in their second role who is looking to build hands-on experience in a high-profile national press office. Reporting to the PR Manager, you will be supported to develop your media judgment, writing, journalist relationships and understanding of consumer issues.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Supporting the running of a busy, reactive press office by managing and responding to enquiries from print, digital, and broadcast media.
- Drafting press releases, media lines and reactive comments in response to consumer issues in the news.
- Monitoring the media landscape to identify proactive opportunities for MSE to provide comment.
- Maintaining media distribution lists and building strong working relationships with journalists.
- Supporting MSE’s 11 spokespeople, including Martin Lewis, to identify and prepare for relevant media opportunities, working with the PR Manager on high-profile or complex requests
- Working closely with the News, Campaigns and Social teams to coordinate and amplify investigations, editorial content, and campaigning activity.
- Keeping up to date with PR best practice, ethics and developments in the media landscape

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
