Job Title: Preventive Maintenance Engineer - HS2

Location: HS2 Project Sites (Southern Section), Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick, and surrounding areas

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced engineer with a background in construction equipment, plant machinery, agricultural machinery, HGVs, heavy vehicles, or a similar mechanical environment? We're looking for a Preventive Maintenance Engineer to support our dedicated HS2 operation, helping to maximize machine uptime across one of the UK's largest and most significant infrastructure projects.

This is a field-based role supporting equipment operating on the southern section of the HS2 project. To provide the best coverage across the region, we are particularly interested in candidates based in Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick, or the surrounding areas. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and available while delivering the first-class service standards expected on a major infrastructure project.

Please note: Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent qualification) and have experience maintaining and servicing construction plant equipment. Applications from candidates who do not meet these requirements are unlikely to be progressed.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance servicing and inspections on Volvo construction equipment supporting the HS2 project, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You'll work closely with site teams and customers while accurately documenting findings, identifying additional service opportunities, and helping maximize machine reliability, compliance, and uptime.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
