Pricing Actuary

SALARY: £89,739 - £99,710
LOCATION(S): Bristol & Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our offices.

About this opportunity

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're motivated by a clear purpose - to Help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities.

In an ever-changing market we need to be able to continually innovate and evolve our products and services. Strong support and advice from our pricing actuaries is at the forefront of this: that's where you come in!

The Pricing team within Actuarial Methodology and Advice plays a key role in supporting the pricing of our insurance and investment products. This includes ensuring that our Pricing Methodology, Models, Tools and Processes are maintained to a high standard, are accurate and fit for purpose. We are a customer focused team, with a strong focus on delivering value-adding advice to our stakeholders as well as efficient and user-friendly tools.

Our team works out of our Edinburgh and Bristol hubs therefore we'll need you to be based a commutable distance from one of these areas. We work in a hybrid model, splitting our time between the office and working from home.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify where pricing tools, models and methodologies can best support sustainable growth
  • Acting as an SME to commercial pricing & platform teams and proposition projects, supporting pricing decisions and analysis across products
  • Effectively and efficiently setting pricing assumptions, maintaining consistency with reporting assumptions where appropriate, applying expert judgement and insight-backed justification
  • Designing and implementing innovative, robust and well-controlled solutions that improve pricing capability - this includes pricing models and trigger-based assumption reviews
  • Developing and enhancing methodologies for existing and new pricing models, using tools such as Python, R, and Mo.Net
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the pricing framework
  • Building insight across a broad range of products and propositions, using data to optimise pricing solutions, ensure pricing reflects underlying risk and support the delivery of strong business outcomes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
