Pricing Actuary
Hybrid – 2 days per week in the London office
Salary open to benchmarking + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
We’re working with a leading global specialty insurer looking to appoint a Pricing Actuary into a broad and commercially focused role. This is an opportunity to move beyond pure model development and have a real influence on portfolio performance and profitability. You’ll work closely with Underwriters and external partners, providing actuarial insight across new and existing arrangements and helping shape commercial decisions.
The role
- Providing actuarial assessment of new business and renewal proposals
- Monitoring portfolio performance, profitability, and pricing adequacy
- Working closely with Underwriters to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions
- Reviewing and enhancing pricing methodologies and rating structures
- Developing and refining technical pricing approaches
- Producing pricing MI and supporting regular performance reviews
- Calculating loss ratios and premium projections to support business planning and reserving
- Considering wider commercial factors including commission structures, profit commissions, and reinsurance
- Supporting the development of per-risk pricing models where required
- Communicating technical analysis and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contributing to wider actuarial, finance, and business projects

About you

We’re interested in speaking with General Insurance pricing actuaries who combine strong technical capability with a commercial mindset. You’ll ideally have:
- Strong General Insurance pricing experience
- Experience within commercial, specialty, or London Market insurance
- A good understanding of portfolio performance and profitability
- Experience developing, reviewing, or challenging pricing models
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work closely with Underwriters
- The ability to translate technical analysis into clear commercial recommendations
