About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Pricing Analyst to join our team on a fixed-term contract, supporting pricing strategy and analysis across the Sales, Marketing, Servicing & Parts (SMSP) organisation, with a particular focus on the Aftermarket business.
This role is suited to an individual with established pricing knowledge, strong analytical capability, and commercial acumen. You will play a key role in providing pricing insights, supporting pricing decisions, and identifying opportunities to optimise revenue and margin performance.

What You Will Do
- Lead price change implementation within established pricing governance frameworks
- Support pricing projects and initiatives, including data transformation and system/process improvements
- Analyse transactional, customer, and market data to generate insights and support pricing decisions
- Assist in the development and execution of pricing strategies for products and services
- Prepare clear, data-driven insights and business cases to support decision making
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Marketing) to ensure alignment and execution
What You Have
Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
Level: Extensive Experience
- Ability to support decision making through structured analysis and sound judgement
- Experience in a commercial, pricing, finance, or analytical role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw insights
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Level: Extensive Experience
- Ability to support decision making through structured analysis and sound judgement
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
Level: Working Knowledge
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Top candidates may demonstrate some of the following:
- Experience working with data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Dataiku)
- Understanding of Perkins Pricing Strategies
- Working knowledge of business strategy and commercial drivers
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation
- Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
Additional information:
This role is based at the Peterborough facility 5 days a week
