Role Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pricing Analyst to join our growing Animal Health Technical Pricing Team. The team is responsible for building technical Pricing models and monitoring the risk to support the market leading brand PetPlan as well as our growing LV pet proposition. Our team is at the heart of achieving the company’s strategy and it is an exciting time for you to join and shape the future of our business.

This is a great role for someone looking to develop their data and analytics skills to drive and improve business outcomes. A great advantage of being a member of the Animal Health Pricing team is the extensive training provided. The UK team has collaborated with the worldwide Allianz Group, to deliver an accreditation scheme designed to train you in all aspects of pricing. From data science modelling in cutting edge software to automating optimisation calculation routines honed across global markets.

Pricing will play a key role in delivering this ambition. We are looking for individuals who have an eye for detail, love working with technology and have a passion for analysing data. You’ll be at the sharp end of our business, delivering analytical models that are used to drive commercial decisions, solve challenging problems, and deliver enhancements to our products and pricing techniques.

Location

This role is based in our Guildford office. This is a hybrid role with expectation of you attending the office one day per week.

Salary Information

This role offers a circa range of £37,000 per year. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Build sophisticated technical Pricing Models using Willis Tower Watson tools (Emblem and Radar) and Machine Learning.
  • Develop demand forecasting models and contribute to the analysis of customer retention and cancellation patterns.
  • Be part of strategic projects to create tariff of new products.
  • Monitor carefully the risk of our existing products and share any statistical analysis with other teams.
  • Be part of many projects involving Machine Learning: Data preparation, Classification and Regression Models, Automation, Risk monitoring.
  • Consider any market disruptions (Covid, Economic crisis) that impact our models.
  • Support initiatives to maintain our “Excellent” Technical Price Certification.
  • Share and promote knowledge, skills and best working practices within the team.
  • Be fully supported in your development and wider career ambitions.
  • Be part of a motivated an exciting team where the word boring does not exist!

Essential Skills

  • Qualified to degree level and have a high degree of numerical ability: E.g. Mathematics, Actuarial, Economics, Statistics.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, logically working through scenarios and thinking multiple steps ahead to understand potential impacts.
  • Experience of using machine learning.
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills when working with large volumes of complex data.
  • Experience of using data analytics tools such as SAS, Python, SQL, Excel, VBA or other coding environments.
  • Ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Business acumen as well as a basic understanding of the insurance sector.

Desirable Skills

  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage is desirable but not essential.
