Pricing Manager

Working pattern: Flexible hybrid, largely remote working with occasional office travel
Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An established UK general insurer is seeking a Pricing Manager to lead a team of analysts and deliver pricing solutions that support profitable growth and strategic business objectives. Combining people leadership, pricing expertise and commercial judgement, you will oversee key pricing processes, influence senior stakeholders and ensure pricing decisions optimise portfolio performance while meeting governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of pricing analysts
  • Shape and deliver pricing strategies aligned with commercial objectives
  • Oversee pricing processes, priorities and project delivery
  • Combine technical pricing insight with commercial acumen to optimise P&L performance
  • Ensure pricing activity complies with governance frameworks and established controls
  • Partner with modelling and optimisation teams to ensure models and methodologies meet business needs
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Coach team members, strengthen technical capability and support career development
  • Promote continuous improvement across pricing processes and approaches

Skills and experience

  • Significant experience within general insurance pricing
  • Previous experience managing or leading pricing analysts
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, pricing trends and market developments
  • Excellent commercial judgement and understanding of portfolio performance
  • Experience with predictive modelling techniques
  • Knowledge of statistical or data science programming languages
  • Exposure to Radar, Emblem or Earnix
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • A quantitative degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of retail pricing optimisation
