Responsibilities

• You will lead on building and maintaining good relationships with GP’s and Pharmacists within the Manchester footprint.
• To provide clear and concise guidance and to support and promote clinical good practice within services and with primary care/pharmacies.
• To ensure all employed staff working in pharmacies and GPs deliver high quality services under agreed SLA’s and contribute to the continual development of specialist multi-agency partnerships.
• To represent CGL on relevant forums and events and to development and disseminate policy across partner agencies where appropriate.
• Lead on the strategic development and improvement of substance misuse service provision in primary care across the locality.
• Facilitate collaborative working between primary and secondary care Substance Misuse Services to ensure the effective service delivery across the locality.
• The post holder will work with GP’s and Pharmacists signed up through local SLA’s to deliver Drug Misuse Shared Care services, needle and syringe programs (NSP) and Supervised Consumption provision. This will include other associated services, such as Naloxone training and distribution and Health and Well-being services.
• The post holder will oversee the delivery of effective co-ordination approach and pro-social model in creating a recovery focused culture with Shared Care GP’s and Pharmacies.
• The post-holder will always maintain high professional standards, whilst ensuring measurable positive outcomes are achieved for the client group.
• The post holder will support the Leadership Team in the continual development and improvement of service delivery, to include service reviews.
• You will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with partners both internally within the service and externally within a wider partnership.
• The post-holder will contribute to the service to ensure that substance users consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards. They will be responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved.
• The post holder will be required to work across operational sites across the area as required. This will include visiting GP’s and Pharmacists across the Manchester footprint.
• The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for personal development, identifying personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and appraisal.
