Job Description

Leading a Primary Care Regional Sales Team, executing on strategy through Operational Excellence in the Region and allocating the promotional budgets to deliver the sales targets and objectives set by the National Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for mobilising, motivating and developing a team of Primary Care Account Specialists
  • Achieve performance goals and Operational Excellence expectations.
  • Responsible for consistently achieving the sales targets and delivering goals set by the National Sales Manager (including activity targets, target customer management etc)
  • Achieve required coaching and salesforce days on road
  • Ensure that performance is driven in your team through strong AbbVie behavioral attributes and culture
  • Drive strong multichannel account management principles
  • Contribute to the national strategy by the regular feedback of high-quality customer insights
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of local sales solutions and strategies to grow the sales of promoted product within the region
  • Responsible for regional data analysis, administration, planning and regional budget management, and also for the development and execution of the implementation strategy and business plan to achieve expected sales as per plan.
  • Strong collaboration and communication with Regional Secondary Care team and respective RBM. Harmonious delivery of business plan and effective territory/Regional working.
  • Strong collaboration and cooperation with cross functional in field leadership team
  • Maximise the impact of the Infield Team by working effectively in a cross-matrix team, including the Brand Team, Secondary Care Team, other Sales Managers, Market Access and Medical.
  • Implement and monitor marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
  • Implementation of Primary Care Business plan for region and territories.
  • Managing AP&S budgets delivering on commitments on time and to allocated budgets.
  • Develop sales skills, product knowledge and the in-call capability for all team members.
  • Recruit & develop top talent for your team

General Accountabilities

  • To comply with the company’s policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives of AbbVie Ltd.
  • Responsible for the health, safety and environmental performance of themselves and others through compliance within EHS programs, regulations and standards. Subject to the policy and procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook.

Qualifications

  • Experience of pharmaceutical/healthcare industry within sales, specifically Primary Care
  • Immediate/current experience of leading a Primary Care sales team is essential
  • Functional understanding of infield pharmaceutical roles outside of sales
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing people in Primary Care roles
  • Experience of managing hybrid Primary Care roles would be advantageous
  • Competent in flexing their leadership style
  • Competent use of computers (spreadsheets, graphics package)
  • Educated to degree level, or, degree calibre & ABPI qualified
  • Understands the operational implementation of the ABPI code of practice
