Location: Stockport

Start Date: ASAP

Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities

Pay: £130-£170 per day, depending on experience

Cover People are currently recruiting Primary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work across primary schools in Stockport.

Whether you're looking to gain more classroom experience, build confidence following your training year or have greater flexibility in your working week, we can offer a range of supply opportunities across the area.

The majority of vacancies are day-to-day and short-term assignments, with longer-term placements also available where schools have an ongoing need.

The Opportunity

Supply teaching can give you the chance to experience different schools, year groups and teaching environments while continuing to develop your practice.

Assignments May Include

  • Taking responsibility for a class during teacher absence
  • Delivering lessons using planning and resources provided by the school
  • Adapting activities to suit different abilities and learning needs
  • Establishing positive routines and maintaining good behaviour
  • Supporting pupils throughout the school day
  • Working alongside Teaching Assistants and other members of staff
  • Maintaining continuity of learning and ensuring pupils remain engaged
  • Building positive relationships quickly within new school environments

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from enthusiastic Primary ECTs who are ready to take the next step in their teaching career.

You Should Have

  • QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification
  • Recent primary teaching experience, including school placements
  • Confidence leading a class independently
  • Good classroom and behaviour-management skills
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new schools and year groups
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A flexible, reliable and professional approach
  • A genuine commitment to children's learning and development
