The Role

You’ll work with Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, delivering short, structured interventions in phonics, early writing and number. You’ll help set up activities, guide groups, and keep concise notes on progress. You’ll reinforce routines, promote positive behaviour, and create a calm, purposeful learning environment.

The Candidate

You’re a graduate who communicates clearly, builds rapport quickly, and follows guidance well. You’re organised, patient, and keen to learn from experienced teachers as you prepare for initial teacher training.

Requirements

  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in KS1 and pupil progress.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
