Primary Homeroom Teacher, KS1 / KS2

Location: Baghdad, Iraq.
Curriculum: British Curriculum.
Start Date: September 2026.
Contract: Up to 2 years.

MZ Talent Group is recruiting an experienced Primary Homeroom Teacher for an established British curriculum school in Baghdad, Iraq.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a primary homeroom class within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, delivering high-quality teaching while supporting pupils’ academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the British curriculum.
  • Teach core primary subjects and differentiate lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Assess, track and report on pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, attendance and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and school leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum progression and consistency.
  • Participate in school meetings, events and professional development.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject.
  • PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status, QTS, or BEd with QTS.
  • Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience within a British school or British curriculum environment.
  • Strong experience teaching within KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, assessment and primary classroom practice.
  • Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural school environment.

Package

  • Salary up to $3,000 per month, depending on experience.
  • Private accommodation for applicants.

Previous international teaching experience is advantageous but is not essential.
