I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Teach the Child, Not Just the Curriculum
Successful Primary Teaching Isn't Simply About Delivering Lessons.
It's about understanding the children sitting in front of you.
Some pupils will need additional explanation or a different way of approaching a task. Others will need greater challenge. Some may require support with SEND, communication, confidence or emotional regulation.
You'll be encouraged to develop a classroom where every pupil feels included and capable of making progress.
You'll work alongside teaching assistants, the SENCO and other professionals where appropriate to ensure children receive the support they need while still developing their independence as learners.
What We're Looking For
You'll Need
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons.
- An understanding of assessment and pupil progress.
- A commitment to inclusive teaching.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A genuine commitment to children's learning and development.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will also be required.
Experienced Teacher?
If you've already developed strong classroom experience, this could be an opportunity to join a new school, contribute your ideas and continue developing professionally.
The school values teachers who want to become involved beyond their own classroom, and there may be opportunities over time to develop particular curriculum interests or take on additional responsibilities.

Early Career Teacher?
If you're completing your training or looking for the right school in which to begin your teaching career, you'll have the opportunity to develop within an established team rather than being expected to figure everything out alone.
You'll receive appropriate ECT support, mentoring and professional development, giving you the opportunity to build confidence and strengthen your classroom practice.
A School Where You Can Develop
Choosing your next teaching position isn't only about September.
It's also about where that role could take you afterwards.
The school is committed to supporting teachers who want to continue developing their practice and broaden their experience.
You'll Benefit From
- A permanent, full-time position from September 2026.
- M1-M6 Inner London Pay Scale.
- Structured ECT support where required.
- Regular CPD and professional development.
- Supportive and approachable leadership.
- Collaborative planning with teaching colleagues.
- Opportunities to develop curriculum expertise.
- Experience supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs.
- Potential opportunities for additional responsibility and future progression.
