Looking for a classroom where you can simply get on with what you do best - teaching?
A welcoming primary school in Penzance is looking for an experienced Primary Teacher to take responsibility for a class and become a valued part of the wider school team.
This is a straightforward teaching opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging lessons, getting to know their pupils properly and seeing the progress that comes from consistent, high-quality teaching.
You'll have the freedom to bring your own ideas and personality to the classroom while working within a supportive team that values collaboration and shared planning.
Your Classroom
You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day learning and development of your class, delivering the National Curriculum in a way that is accessible, interesting and appropriately challenging.
That means balancing whole-class teaching with the individual needs sitting in front of you.
Some pupils will need stretching. Others may need additional explanation, adapted resources or targeted support. You'll work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to make sure pupils can participate, progress and feel successful.

You'll Be Responsible For
- Planning and delivering well-structured primary lessons
- Creating an engaging and purposeful classroom environment
- Differentiating learning for different abilities and needs
- Assessing progress and using what you learn to inform future teaching
- Maintaining clear records of pupil attainment and development
- Establishing positive expectations for behaviour and learning
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and other teachers
- Building constructive relationships with pupils and families
- Contributing ideas, resources and experience to the wider teaching team
There will also be opportunities to become involved in the broader life of the school through events, enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
What We're Looking For
You'll need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, alongside good knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
We're looking for someone who can confidently manage their own classroom but who also enjoys being part of a team.

Ideally, You'll Have
- Previous primary classroom teaching experience
- Strong curriculum and subject knowledge
- Confident classroom and behaviour management
- The ability to adapt teaching for different learners
- Good assessment and organisational skills
- Clear and positive communication with children, colleagues and families
- A collaborative approach to planning and school life
- A commitment to developing your own teaching practice
Around Two Years' Previous Primary Teaching Experience Is Preferred.
Teaching in Penzance
The role is full-time, with daily pay of £150-£180 depending on experience.
You'll join a supportive primary environment where professional development is encouraged and teachers are expected to contribute ideas rather than simply follow them.
