Contract Type: Temporary until 25th June 2027
Salary: £43,383 - £54,453
Hours: 35 hours per week
Castleview Primary is a primary school for pupils with severe and complex additional support needs within the Raploch Community Campus in Stirling. We have a small school roll of up to 30 pupils. Due to the complex nature of the needs of our pupils we have a large team of support for learning assistants who assist in the day to day care and learning for our pupils. Each class is led on a day to day basis by a class teacher who will need to have an overview of the holistic needs of each child in order to ensure their care and educational needs are met by the class team. Our curriculum is structured to maximise the breadth of experience for our learners and to minimise barriers. Working alongside allied health professionals is a significant part of our curriculum planning.
You will be required to teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and assessing of children’s work; and assist in developing the school curriculum. You will work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals and contribute towards the positive ethos and working life of the school. The successful candidate will undertake training appropriate to the position, e.g. to support the medical needs of pupils, and will be supported by fellow professionals through strong team work and collegiate development. You will have a relevant teaching qualification together with GTCs registration. With excellent interpersonal skills you will have good demonstrable classroom practice with sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, including the Milestones for Complex Additional Support Needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
