Primary Teacher - Chester

Location: Chester
Start Date: November 2026
Salary: MPS M1-M6, pro rata

A friendly and supportive primary school in Chester is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join its dedicated teaching team from November 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate primary teacher looking for a part-time role within a welcoming school community. The successful candidate will work across Year 4 and EYFS, providing high-quality teaching and creating engaging learning experiences for pupils at different stages of their primary education.

The school has a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, high expectations and professional development, making this an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a genuine difference while continuing to develop their own practice.

About the Role

As a Primary Teacher in this Chester school, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of your pupils
  • Teach across Year 4 and EYFS as part of the maternity cover arrangement
  • Create a safe, positive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly
  • Use effective teaching strategies to ensure all pupils can achieve their potential
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other members of staff
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school

What We're Looking For

The school would welcome applications from teachers who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience within primary education and training
  • Can demonstrate strong teaching and learning practice
  • Have experience working within either KS1, KS2 or EYFS
  • Are enthusiastic, organised and adaptable
  • Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
  • Can work effectively as part of a supportive team
  • Are committed to their own professional development and education and training
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience across different primary year groups would be advantageous, particularly for candidates who are confident adapting their education and training approach to suit both EYFS and Key Stage 2 learners.
