Job Title: Primary Teacher
Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA
Salary: Up to £51,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.15am-4.15pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time
Start: January 2027

What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and personalised lessons that inspire every pupil to achieve their full potential.
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of individual learning needs, ensuring every child can access the curriculum and experience success.
- Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom where pupils feel safe, supported and motivated to learn.
- Build positive relationships that develop confidence, resilience, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning and maximise outcomes.
- Develop and review personalised learning plans, EHCP outcomes and individual targets.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, holistic support.
- Champion safeguarding and promote the welfare of every child, maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
- Can deliver creative, engaging and highly personalised learning that inspires confidence and curiosity.
- Is patient, resilient and skilled at building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Is committed to inclusion, innovation and delivering outstanding outcomes for every child.
- Is eager to continue developing professionally within specialist education.
About Us
Kestrel House School is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. We help educate and support pupils who have complex needs and specialise in the communication and learning challenges associated with Autism.
We want each pupil at Kestrel House School to achieve their own ambitions and to live fulfilling and productive lives. We want you to encourage everyone to achieve their potential and dream big, despite of any challenges you or they may face. This can be achieved by assisting and supporting the class teachers with the agreed learning plans, whilst also being responsible for safeguarding the pupils. This will include making sure they are healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible and assisting with the physical, emotional, educational and personal care needs for each individual.
The site is in London, Haringey Borough within Crouch End area, quite close to central London. The location has the advantage of easy access to public transport, having the over ground station located 5 to 10 min walk away from the school and a 2 bus stops right outside of the school front gates.
For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults.
