Reeson Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and values-driven Catholic primary school in West London, who are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Religious Education Lead to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and practising Catholic to take a leading role in developing Religious Education across the school, while making a positive contribution to the wider Catholic life, mission and ethos of the school.

The Role

As Religious Education Lead, you will take responsibility for leading, developing and monitoring RE across the school, ensuring a high-quality, faith-based curriculum that enables pupils to develop academically, socially and spiritually.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, colleagues, parish and Diocese to ensure that RE provision is consistently strong and that Catholic values are embedded throughout school life.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading and developing Religious Education across the school.
  • Monitoring teaching, planning, assessment and pupil progress in RE.
  • Supporting colleagues through guidance, modelling, CPD and high-quality resources.
  • Ensuring curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in line with Diocesan requirements.
  • Supporting the prayer and liturgical life of the school, including Masses, assemblies, liturgies, retreats and mission.
  • Contributing to school improvement planning and the ongoing development of RE.
  • Liaising with the Diocese, parish and relevant external partners.
  • Supporting the preparation for Catholic school inspection and providing evidence of the quality of RE provision.
  • Promoting pupils' moral, ethical and religious understanding and helping them to develop as responsible citizens.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a practising Catholic who is passionate about Catholic education and committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential.

You Will Ideally Have

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • At least three years teaching experience within a Catholic school.
  • A strong track record of excellent teaching and learning.
  • A secure understanding of Religious Education and the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues.
  • Experience of assessment, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress.
  • The ability to lead and support colleagues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
  • A commitment to your own professional development.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, parish and Diocese.
