Primary Teaching Assistant – South Manchester
Milk Education is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in South Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with relevant transferable experience working with children.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils with their learning and development. You will play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional assistance
- Deliver targeted interventions in phonics, literacy, and numeracy
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to pupil wellbeing
- Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials
- Support the maintenance of a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers where appropriate
- Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils

We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, coaching, or similar setting – desirable
- Is passionate about supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a positive, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude
- Is patient, caring, and able to build strong relationships with pupils
- Can work effectively as part of a wider school team
- Is confident supporting pupils both independently and within a classroom setting
- Holds a relevant qualification or degree – desirable, but not essential
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
