Are you a passionate and caring SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity within a mainstream primary school?
Our education supply agency is currently recruiting a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualified SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Redcar.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, or someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to make a positive difference to pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs.
You may be supporting children on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or as part of the wider classroom, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
- Supporting pupils to access the mainstream curriculum.
- Following individual support plans and strategies.
- Supporting children with their communication, social and emotional development.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils to regulate their emotions.
- Adapting activities and resources to support individual learning needs.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
About You
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualified, or holds an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experienced in supporting children with SEND, or has a strong interest in developing their SEND experience.
- Patient, compassionate and understanding.
- Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs.
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Reliable, adaptable and proactive.
- A positive team player who works well alongside teachers and support staff.
- Committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with transferable experience are also welcomed.
