Role/Team Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for defending and driving organic revenue growth, maintaining overall client satisfaction, and promoting client participation across the Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage and Fixed Income Prime Brokerage product suite. The Account Manager is also tasked with fostering client efficiency from both a returns and an operational best practice perspective.

The Account Management group within Prime Services is responsible for the overall client experience. The Account Manager should fully understand the strategies executed by their clients and the revenue opportunity for Citi, while looking to leverage the relationship to enhance the client footprint both within Prime as well as Equities. At all times the priority, content and diversity of the work is dictated by the direction and demands of our clients.

What you'll do

Ultimate objective: Ensure best in class client experience across Prime Services for existing clients, to help retain and grow existing wallet.

  • Work closely with incumbent Account Management team to support in the following ways:
    • Back up coverage on 5-6 key, Platinum covered clients. Be curious and assertive to enhance coverage
    • Co-ownership of some lower tier, non-Platinum clients – leading growth, managing issues and being accountable during escalations
    • Preparation/analysis of client performance for the team – revenues, balances, operational stats
    • Support on Investor questionnaire/due diligence questionnaires and meetings with clients and depositories
    • Ownership of driving tasks that can be eradicated from the role, out of the team or improve existing ones – leveraging AI, to help efficiency
  • Partnership with Origination Sales on growth opportunities on existing clients
  • Attend periodic client reviews to determine overall client satisfaction and coordinate the response to client evolving requirements and any concerns
  • Fully learn Citi products and services – with a view to driving change
  • Understanding the client wallet, driving organic growth and the identification and execution of cross sell opportunities
  • Provide risk management oversight and ensure clients are acting within prescribed risk parameters/limits. First line of defense working closely with In Business Risk, and independent Credit Risk management coverage

What we'll need from you

  • At least 2 years prior experience in Cash, Swap, and/or Fixed Income Prime Brokerage
  • A strong understanding of risk and control, preferably in the context of the Prime businesses
  • Cross-product knowledge covering Futures, Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Cleared Swaps.
  • Understanding of global markets, including market regulations and operational/settlement procedures
  • Prior experience in a client facing role
  • Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), UK Regulations Financial Exam, and Securities Exam required
  • Additional certifications may be required based on role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to engage in client meetings and discussions
  • Attention to detail and the commitment to deliver excellent service to a demanding global client base
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a sense of ownership in defining and implementing solutions to client requests / challenges
  • Strong intellectual grasp of the industry, with the ability to anticipate organizational response to future changes in line with the demands of the business and client base
  • Natural curiosity, willingness, and motivation to maintain a steep learning curve
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to develop deep, broad, and responsive/engaged relationships
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
