Principal Account Manager

A Principal Account Manager is sought to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing team in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, contributing to the profitable growth and development of existing customer accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead RFQs, quote submissions and follow-ups for existing and new business opportunities
  • Manage contract reviews and ensure orders are processed in line with company procedures
  • Liaise with procurement, manufacturing and internal stakeholders to meet customer delivery expectations
  • Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts and carry out regular business reviews
  • Identify new sales opportunities and support long-term profitable account growth
  • Produce and maintain sales reports while working towards and exceeding sales targets
  • Support the Head of Sales with sales strategy and the development, mentoring and day-to-day management of the Account Management team

Key Skills

  • Account management or sales experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical understanding, ideally within electrical engineering or contract electronics manufacturing
  • Proven success in developing long-term customer relationships and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail and sound business judgement
