In this senior leadership position, you will:
- Shape and architect the algorithmic direction of our projects
- Set technical standards for the team
- Engage directly with clients, leveraging your expertise to secure and deliver complex projects
- Contribute to multidisciplinary efforts using our state-of-the-art labs and computational resources
Due to project scope, security clearance is required. A strong interest in defence and security is essential.
Flexible hybrid working is offered, though some projects require full-time office attendance.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply data-driven software development, combining machine learning/AI, applied statistics, and sensor processing, alongside mathematical techniques like digital signal processing, simulation, and numerical optimisation.
- Act as technical lead on high-complexity projects, owning the solution architecture and client value delivery.
- Lead discussions on technical direction and solution review, influencing department standards.
- Drive sales proposals and costed work programmes, translating client challenges into opportunities for growth.
- Build capability demonstrations to enhance technical leadership and open new client discussions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
