Principal Analyst – Copper Demand & Prices

Description:

You will join Benchmark’s global Copper Team as Principal Analyst, Copper Demand & Prices, leading the establishment and ongoing updates of Benchmark’s view of Copper Demand globally, with the support of a dedicated China analyst alongside other team members. Furthermore, you will have the lead responsibility in setting the Benchmark view on copper price forecasts.

Your core responsibilities will include managing the Copper Team’s demand and price outputs, specifically relating to the ongoing service delivery at the required frequency, but also to develop a more granular view on demand, ultimately ensuring this is effectively communicated to our clients through data packs, reports and via client calls/webinars/other speaking opportunities. You will also support in the successful publication of the weekly Copper Briefing.

In addition, you will work with our events, marketing and sales teams to effectively integrate this research with key industry stakeholders and governments supporting in all business development opportunities.

As part of your role, you will be given the opportunity to travel the world, build your personal brand as a recognised global authority on energy transition supply chains, interact with senior management from leading stakeholders across the supply chain, and regularly speak to, and be quoted by, leading mainstream media organisations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely delivery of copper services (Briefing, Monthly updates adhoc white papers).
  • Developing more efficient processes to fast-track delivery of existing services.
  • Developing a more robust and granular view of the semi’s market.
  • Contributing to and delivering client workshops alongside supporting in demos etc.
  • Guiding and assisting analyst efforts to develop or refine data sets.
  • Provide data and analysis to media organisations in order to profile Benchmark’s services.
  • Speak at industry events and forums.

Requirements:

  • Analytical mindset, drive for deeper understanding and growth of personal and company knowledge base.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint & Thinkcell (ideally).
  • Naturally organised and self-motivated individual; able to work remotely.
  • Good communication skills: able to interact with the internal team and external clients.
  • Have base knowledge of copper supply chains.
  • Able to work in a hybrid manner and travel for Benchmark internal meetings/client workshops/events.
  • To work within the start-up culture and mentality of Team Benchmark, which can require continuing to operate and undertake day to day duties while travelling across the world, including weekend work when travelling abroad.
