As a Principal Analyst within Business & Wholesale Services (BWS) Finance, you'll provide strategic financial leadership, drive performance improvement, and help deliver outcomes that matter to our customers, our business, and the future of low-carbon energy.
The Opportunity
As Principal Analyst, Cost & Projects, you'll play a pivotal role within the BWS Finance team, providing high-quality financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic insight that supports key business decisions. Working at the heart of Customers Finance, you'll help shape financial performance, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to achieving ambitious EBIT targets across the business.
You'll join us on a competitive salary and benefit from flexible working arrangements, with travel to London (Nova North, Victoria) required as part of the role.
Working closely with senior leaders across Business & Wholesale Services, you'll use financial analysis, commercial insight, and data-driven recommendations to improve business performance. This is an opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, lead meaningful change, and develop your career within a dynamic and evolving part of EDF's Customers business.
Who You Are
We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong analytical skills with the confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders at senior levels. - Being a qualified accountant
- Providing financial insight and strategic recommendations to support business decision-making
- Analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Delivering cost, capex, cashflow, and forecasting analysis
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and directors
- Communicating complex financial information to non-financial audiences
- Identifying root causes of issues and implementing proportionate solutions
- Working in fast-paced, evolving environments with competing priorities
- Demonstrating strong commercial acumen and influencing skills
- Using financial reporting and analysis tools to deliver accurate, impactful outputs

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing accurate reporting and forecasting across operating expenditure, capital expenditure, headcount, balance sheet and cash performance
- Delivering forward-looking financial insight and recommendations that influence business performance and profitability
- Acting as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the BWS Senior Leadership Team
- Supporting the annual four-year medium-term planning process through robust financial challenge and guidance
- Consolidating financial reporting and forecasts across the wider BWS business, including gross margin performance
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, controls, and reporting quality
- Managing project-based and ad hoc financial analysis, translating complex data into actionable recommendations
- Building strong relationships across the business to align financial and strategic objectives
- Leading engagement with external auditors, supporting governance, compliance and reporting integrity
- Collaborating across the wider BWS Finance team to help create a high-performing and supportive working environment
