Principal Analytical Scientist
You are an experienced analytical scientist with deep expertise in chromatography and analytical method development. You want to work in a senior, highly visible role where you can influence analytical strategy, remain close to the science and help shape the development of analytical capabilities across multiple pharmaceutical and biotechnology programmes.
We are supporting the search for a Principal Analytical Scientist to join a growing analytical development group. This position combines hands-on science, technical leadership, client interaction and project ownership within a commercially focused CRO/CDMO environment. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for analytical CMC activities from early development through to clinical manufacture, while helping clients navigate complex scientific and regulatory challenges. Given the current successes within this company there is significant scope for progression into more senior leadership positions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
