Principal Architect (Data)

Salary: c.£120,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Reporting to: Head of Architecture
Location: London / Hybrid (Remote First with 1 day per week in the London office and occasional client visits)

Join an independent and forward-thinking data and analytics consultancy focused on delivering tangible business value through data management, data platforms, governance, AI and analytics solutions. Seeking an experienced Principal Architect to play a key leadership role in shaping client outcomes, developing architecture practice, and helping scale their delivery capability.

The Opportunity

This is a strategic leadership role for a highly experienced architecture professional who thrives in consultancy environments and enjoys solving complex business and technology challenges.

As Principal Architect, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders while providing architectural leadership across multiple engagements. You will oversee teams of Data Engineers, Data Architects and Data Governance & Management professionals delivering enterprise-scale solutions spanning:

You will be responsible for creating architectural consistency across engagements, driving delivery excellence, establishing reusable frameworks and standards, and ensuring teams deliver measurable business value for clients.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience operating as a Senior, Lead or Principal Architect within a consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex data and analytics programmes across multiple clients.
  • Strong leadership experience managing architects, data engineers and governance professionals.
  • Expertise across modern data platforms, cloud technologies, data architecture and data management disciplines.
  • Experience establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks and delivery methodologies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including C-level and executive engagement.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting bids, proposals and client growth.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering Master Data Management (MDM) programmes.
  • Experience with AI and data-driven transformation initiatives.
  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience building reusable frameworks, accelerators and architectural assets.
