Want to play a key role in shaping the future performance of critical infrastructure?
In this newly created role, you will combine your strategic asset management, asset performance and reliability expertise with asset verification, condition assessment and asset information assurance solutions to solve complex client challenges. By turning asset data and field intelligence into actionable insight, you'll help organisations make informed decisions across strategy, risk, investment, governance, maintenance and operational performance, delivering measurable business outcomes across critical infrastructure and asset-intensive industries.
Working on some of the UK's most significant infrastructure challenges, partnering with clients across transport, utilities, energy, water and defence to improve asset performance and operational resilience, your remit will include:
- Manage asset management solutions across strategy, governance, planning, risk, performance, analytics, lifecycle management and investment.
- Ensure alignment with ISO 55000, whilst also identifying practical improvement initiatives.
- Lead requirements management activities across complex asset projects.
- Design and lead asset verification, inventory, condition assessment and asset data improvement programmes.
- Translate analysis into strategic and practical solutions, implementing roadmaps, robust business cases, enabling informed decisions.
- Facilitate senior stakeholder interviews, workshops and reviews, ensuring alignment.
- Define project scope, condition grading and quality metrics.
- Develop survey methodologies, digital capture requirements and mobilisation plans.
- Assure the quality, consistency and traceability of survey outputs, asset registers, process flow information and asset assemblies.
- Ensure that improved asset data is integrated into relevant systems, governance and business processes.
- Develop through-life asset management solutions, including criticality, failure risk, maintenance strategy, lifecycle planning and investment strategies.
Here's What You'll Need
Coming from one of an industry such as rail & transportation, defence, energy & power, chemical/process, oil & gas, data centres/technology, water, aerospace/aviation, or government. We would be delighted to hear from established Asset Management consultants, with a real blend of the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Consultancy, engineering or operational experience within asset-intensive environments.
- Demonstrable knowledge of RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety) principles and their practical application.
- Experience with ISO 55001 asset management principles, criticality assessments, FMEA/FMECA, condition-based maintenance and infrastructure asset performance optimisation.
- Experience helping organisations improve reliability, maintenance effectiveness and asset performance.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to turn insight into business value.
- A collaborative and partnership based approach to stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to thrive in varied, ambiguous environments—curious, delivery‑focused and proactive in learning and knowledge sharing.
- Chartered (or working towards)
- Technical/System Safety HAZID, qualitative/quantitative risk assessment, SIL understanding, risk evaluation for safety‑related/critical systems.
- Reliability & Availability Functional analysis, FMEA/FMECA, RBD, FTA/ETA, reliability/availability modelling (e.g., Reliability Workbench or similar)
