Principal / Associate Electrical Design Engineer – London (Hybrid) – £55k–£82.5k + £4.5k Travel Allowance

9-Day Fortnight | Hybrid Working | L&D Support | Mission Critical Projects (Data Centres)

Ada Meher is partnered with a leading MEP Consultancy as they look to appoint a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer into their London office. This team delivers design-led MEP solutions across RIBA Stages 2–4, working on some of the most technically demanding environments in the UK — from Data Centres and Science facilities to Airports, Stadiums, Retail, Commercial and Residential developments. This role is focused on Data Centre builds.

You’ll be joining a business known for its structured progression pathways, strong L&D culture and collaborative engineering environment. The role is fully design-focused, working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Sustainability specialists to deliver high-quality building services designs across a diverse project portfolio.

The consultancy operates a hybrid model, typically 2–3 days per week in the office depending on team requirements. You will also receive a £4,560 annual travel allowance on top of salary. As part of their commitment to work/life balance employees have the option to condense their hours into a 9-day fortnight, giving every other Friday off.

To Be Considered:

  • Strong experience in Electrical Design Engineering in the Building Services sector
  • Data Centre design experience is essential
  • Experience designing electrical systems such as small power, lighting, security, containment and distribution
  • Background delivering MEP designs across RIBA Stages 2–4
  • CIBSE accreditation or industry specific charterships would be a bonus
  • Ability to lead projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Comfortable working across sectors such as Commercial, Residential, Science, Healthcare, Aviation or similar
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and internal stakeholders
