About the Role

We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and solution-focused Principal Building Services Engineer (Electrical). This role is to join our dynamic team based in our vibrant, centrally located Nottingham office. The location of the role is flexible, but mentoring of early-career professionals within the team will be a key responsibility of the Engineer.

You will be delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the private and public sector; including education, custodial, defence, healthcare, leisure, data, and commercial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector.
  • Preparing designs, feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents.
  • Carrying out building analysis.
  • Managing various contracts.
  • Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures.

About You

Our ideal Principal Building Services Engineer (Electrical) will have:

  • HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of BS7671.
  • Knowledge of H&S/CDM requirements and current legislation e.g., UK Building Regulations.
  • Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software’s such as Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux.
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative, and self-motivated.
  • Structured wiring system and security system design experience.
  • Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
  • Resource planning and management experience.
  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience.
  • Business development experience.
