Principal Business Analyst

Permanent | £80,000-£90,000

Hybrid with 2 days per week in Crawley

Are you an experienced Business Analyst who can lead complex change while also developing and setting the standards for a wider BA team?

Our client is looking for a Principal Business Analyst to play a key role within their Change function, leading complex business analysis initiatives while providing leadership to the wider Business Analysis team.

This is a senior role requiring someone who can combine strong hands-on BA expertise with genuine people and practice leadership. You will manage, mentor and develop Business Analysts, help allocate BA resource across the change portfolio, and take ownership of BA standards, frameworks, processes and best practice.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead analysis across complex, large-scale change and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of Business Analysts.
  • Lead the BA practice, defining standards, frameworks, tools and ways of working.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and influence strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate workshops and translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work closely with architecture, technology, delivery and testing teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the BA function and wider Change portfolio.

What they’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior, Lead or Principal Business Analyst within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proven experience leading, managing and mentoring other Business Analysts.
  • Experience establishing and improving BA standards, frameworks and best practice.
  • Strong requirements gathering, process analysis and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • The confidence to challenge, take ownership and operate as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.

Relevant BA qualifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA and Agile certifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
