Position – Principal C&I Engineer

Location – Warrington

Reference – TS119

Travel – Hybrid

Arrangement – Staffed/Contract

NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting department is fast growing with hybrid opportunities available up and down the country. We're striving to create a multidisciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent.

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable.

In this role, you will provide the client with strong leadership as the Intelligent Customer for C&I initially supporting Reactor Island but ultimately across all parts of the power plant design, acting as the single point for the discipline across engineering projects. You will be responsible for technical delivery of the tasks and technical interactions with the technical partner and Owner’s Engineer, setting scopes and issue task orders, ensuring alignment with technical standards, project goals and regulatory expectations.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead the C&I design for the project.
  • Act as the “intelligent customer” for C&I deliverables from the Technology Partner, providing informed challenge, clarification and acceptance recommendations.
  • Support responses to regulator questions and technical queries relating to C&I.
  • Ensure C&I analysis and documentation comply with relevant UK and international standards, codes, ONR expectations and internal nuclear safety principles.
  • Contribute to ALARP demonstrations and identification of reasonably practicable improvements.
  • Monitor progress, quality, risk and change across tasks, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Provide regular C&I status updates, risk/issue summaries and decision inputs to the Reactor Island Lead and wider project management team.
  • Contribute to building a positive safety culture and a high performing technical community aligned with client values.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
