Are you a Principal civil engineering professional ready to shape the UK’s mission-critical infrastructure?

You’ll join a team designing and delivering the civil engineering foundations behind high-performance data centres across the UK. This role places you at the centre of hyperscale and colocation data-centre development - projects that demand strategic thinking, robust technical delivery, and the ability to design resilient infrastructure supporting the UK’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

If you’re a civil engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, engineering-led environment - with genuine responsibility, visibility and the chance to shape nationally significant projects, this is your opportunity.

What's In It For You

  • Leadership on Mission-Critical Projects - Lead the civil design and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centres throughout the UK - from feasibility assessments and planning submissions through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning. Your input will guide drainage performance, resilience, groundworks strategy and long-term operational success.
  • Strategic Client Partnership - Work closely with major UK and international clients, providing senior-level direction, design assurance and value-driven civil engineering solutions. You’ll translate complex site constraints into compliant, efficient and future-proof strategies that position you as a trusted engineering advice.
  • Technical Depth & Innovation - Manage civil engineering design packages including site layouts, drainage/SuDS, utilities, highways access, earthworks, foundations and overall site infrastructure. Ensure full alignment with UK Building Regulations, local planning policy, SuDS requirements, UK Water Authorities, BRE, and relevant BS/EN standards.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration - Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, architecture, sustainability and BIM teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions that meet demanding performance and regulatory expectations for mission-critical projects.
  • Talent Development & Team Leadership - Mentor engineers, support succession planning and help shape a high-performing, technically excellent team culture across the UK.
  • Business Influence & Growth - Help strengthen Black & White’s footprint across the UK market by identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and supporting strategic expansion within the mission-critical sector.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
