The Role

As Principal Civil/Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of civil and structural refurbishment projects for subway systems within a critical infrastructure setting. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assessing existing structures
  • Developing remediation strategies
  • Managing design teams
  • Ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety regulations

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with external design houses, and support the lifecycle of design development to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • A proven degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with Chartered status or extensive relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of civil and structural design in regulated environments, preferably in Nuclear or Defence sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with safety standards, legislation, and regulatory compliance including CDM regulations.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex design projects through their lifecycle, with capability to provide technical guidance and oversight.
  • Demonstrable experience working within BIM environments and digital design tools.
  • Familiarity with project planning, management, budgeting, and governance procedures.
