NHS Golden Jubilee: Clinical Psychologist Opportunity

NHS Golden Jubilee has an exciting opportunity for a clinical psychologist with experience in the field of clinical health psychology. You will be joining an established team, who contribute to the clinical care to patients for advanced heart failure and transplant, adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and complex orthopaedics, provided across the specialist national services hosted at this site: Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service; Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service; and Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit. The team is led and supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Head of Service who will provide the successful post holder with the necessary support.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to undertake an innovative project developing a new national digital service delivering psychological care to patients in receipt of a cardiac device, e.g., implantable cardioverter defibrillator. The service will be delivered using an array of digital solutions such as Near Me and computerised CBT, experience of which is desirable, to engage patients in 1:1 and group sessions as appropriate. You will work closely with existing members of the team, providing and facilitating support in line with the Psychology strategy. This post will provide a great opportunity for the consolidation and development of your skills as a clinical psychologist, working in physical and digital health. The service intends to seek ongoing funding to extend the scope and duration of the post.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
