Experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior clinical psychologist to join the Psychological and Mental Health Services department at Great Ormond Street Hospital in a permanent role. The post holder will work as part of a stream of clinical psychologists within the Specialist Health Conditions Stream which covers six medical specialties.

Role Overview

The post holder will be working in a senior service lead role within the dermatology psychology team, in addition to offering input to other specialties within the stream as required. The Dermatology Team provides both nationally commissioned specialist services and tertiary level services to families locally and nationally.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Service Lead Role: Lead the systematic delivery of high quality, evidence-based clinical psychology services to patients and families as part of the multidisciplinary dermatology team.
  • Clinical Work: Provide consultation and expertise to the staff teams working within these services. Offer clinical leadership within the psychology team, with responsibility for supervision of junior colleagues, service governance and management, innovation and organization.
  • Specialist Assessments: Deliver highly specialist assessment, complex formulations, and interventions relevant to the service.
  • Inpatient and Outpatient Work: Involves a mixture of inpatient and outpatient work and close working within medical MDTs and clinics.
  • Complex Safeguarding Issues: Knowledge and experience in managing complex safeguarding issues will be important.
  • Dermatology Team Support: Provide psychological input to the Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) team as well as direct clinical work with children with this condition and their families.
