Principal Clinical Scientist Vacancy
We welcome applications for a Principal Clinical Scientist vacancy to join a team of 7 consultant staff and a further 7 clinical scientists within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow. The QEUH provides a full laboratory diagnostic service as well as a regional and national service for toxicology and metabolic biochemistry and opportunities to develop specialist skills will be made available to the successful applicant.
Role Overview
You will be expected to participate in all aspects of the department including reporting, clinical liaison, research and development, teaching, and audit. The previous post holder took a lead role in Point of Care Testing and the specialist toxicology service.
Key Requirements
- Advanced clinical knowledge and interpretive skills
- Relevant Clinical Biochemistry experience
- HCPC registered as a Clinical Scientist
- MSc or equivalent in Clinical Biochemistry
- Obtained FRCPath Part 1
Consideration for Annex 21 Appointment
Consideration will be given to appoint under AfC annex 21 for candidates who are HCPC registered as a clinical scientist but who have yet to attain the written FRCPath examination but are actively working towards it.
