Applications are invited for a part-time 0.1 wte (3.75hrs) Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist (Band 8b or Equivalent) at the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is an exciting opportunity to be part of the award-winning Psychological Interventions Clinic for outpatients with Psychosis (PICuP) based at the Maudsley Hospital.

The Candidate Will Be Expected To Do The Following

  • Facilitate specialist CBT for Psychosis (CBTp) and Trauma-focused CBTp (TF-CBTp) supervision groups nationally (for NHS and academic courses) and potentially internationally (via MS Teams).
  • Listen to and rate supervisees session recordings according to standard CBT ratings scales (e.g. CTRS, C-PAS).
  • Contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.

There may also be opportunities to be involved with the following:

  • Supporting dissemination of evidence-based psychological therapies including providing specialist training in an area of expertise related to psychological interventions in psychosis (especially trauma) and related emotional problems in SLaM, other NHS trusts, and nationally/internationally.
  • Delivering individual cognitive behavioural therapy (and family intervention) to clients with ongoing distressing symptoms of psychosis, bipolar disorder and/or secondary emotional difficulties (especially trauma), and their carers. This will include specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
