Our client is a fast-growing, fully remote Google Cloud consultancy and a multiple Google Cloud Partner Award winner. They work at enterprise level on some of the most complex infrastructure, data, and AI projects around.
We're hiring a Principal Architect to lead their most complex client engagements: part hands-on architect, part trusted advisor, someone who can also support their sales team.
Location
This is a UK-based, remote, permanent role with occasional travel to Google and client offices, as well as attending team social events and conferences.
NB: You must be eligible to work in the UK without visa support.
What you'll do
- Lead the technical vision for enterprise engagements — turning messy business requirements into clear proposals, SoWs, and realistic timelines.
- Act as the primary technical lead on delivery teams, balancing architectural oversight with hands-on-keyboard work, and unblocking the team when things get stuck.
- Navigate enterprise environments while keeping projects on track, stakeholders aligned, and team morale high.
- Mentor and upskill client engineering teams so the impact outlasts the engagement.
- Stay calm and be a real partner to clients when engagements get high-pressure.

What you bring
- Deep, hands-on Google Cloud expertise in complex enterprise environments — you know how to map GCP capabilities to real governance, security, and compliance constraints.
- A track record of migrating or integrating legacy/on-prem infrastructure into modern, cloud-native platforms without breaking production.
- Strong command of modern DevOps/SRE tooling — Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, Kubernetes/GKE, service mesh — in high-complexity operational settings.
- Solid enterprise networking and security fundamentals (IAM, Confidential Computing, Security Command Center, etc.).
- Genuine depth in at least one of: cloud architecture, data platform modernization, platform engineering, or large-scale networking.
