Principal Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst
Salary: up to £55,000
Location: Midlands – hybrid working
Contract: Permanent
Overview of the Principal Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst role
We’re currently partnered with a growing mutual organisation that is looking for an experienced Principal Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst to join their expanding Pricing team at an exciting point in its transformation journey.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Pricing Analyst to join a people-focused organisation committed to fair, accurate and insight-driven pricing. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how pricing operates in the future, with the work delivered having a genuine impact on customers, communities and the wider business.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a technical lead within the Pricing Analytics function, providing expertise across a range of pricing disciplines
- Design, build and implement pricing models across a broad range of Commercial Lines products
- Develop robust rating logic and deliver high-quality pricing analysis to support business decisions
- Influence and shape pricing solutions across the organisation
- Lead and deliver complex analytical projects
- Drive technical improvements across pricing analytics and methodologies
- Support key business and transformation initiatives
- Identify and implement improvements to processes, tools and analytical approaches
- Work closely with colleagues across Pricing, Underwriting and the wider business
- Communicate complex analytical insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders
- Act as a technical role model, coaching and mentoring junior analysts
- Support the development of pricing capability across the wider team

Required experience/qualifications
- Strong experience working within Pricing Analytics
- Good understanding of General Insurance, with Commercial Lines experience particularly valuable
- Experience designing, developing and implementing pricing models
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with experience using tools such as Radar, Emblem and SQL ideally desirable
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex analytical projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex insights clearly
- Experience of managing or owning an insurance account would be advantageous
- Strong insurance knowledge and understanding of pricing principles
- Degree-level education would be advantageous
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts and supporting wider team capability
