As a Principal Consultant - CFD & Thermofluids, your core responsibilities will include;
- Leading technical delivery of projects. This will include appropriate methods specification, model development or delegation to the team of engineers, and execution of engineering simulations as well as verification and analysis of results
- Supporting and enabling the technical delivery by more junior staff
- Displaying subject expertise and technical leadership, and also developing new skills and capabilities on the job or through in-house innovation initiatives
- Owning Project Management responsibility of larger, complex projects, directing project teams to deliver projects to budget, timelines and quality requirements
- Be a professional, competent and honest ambassador for the business in all dealings with customers, setting an example for junior staff
- Lead delivery of new proposals in familiar areas and identify business generation activities, with support/guidance from more senior staff

Skills/Qualifications
We are looking to recruit engineers with the experience of carrying out system and component level thermo-fluids and heat transfer analyses. We are looking for people who:
- Can lead technical delivery of projects, within team-based project delivery execution
- Act as subject matter experts in thermo-fluids and CFD, providing capability leadership
- Have a Bachelor’s degree (grade 2.1 or above), Masters or PhD or in a relevant engineering, science or applied mathematics discipline. Preferably with a strong CFD or thermo-fluids component
- Ideally experienced in delivering engineering analysis in a consultancy framework
- Interest in supporting the development of junior team members
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and heat transfer, with the ability to apply this knowledge to a range of industry sectors;
- Ideally have experience with themo-fluids analysis tools such as Siemens STAR-CCM+, Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM or other similar tools
- Are proficient in the use of programming language such as Python, VBA or C++
- Ideally Chartered (or equivalent) or actively working towards chartership status
- Like a challenge, are flexible thinkers and aren’t intimidated by unfamiliar problems
